    I am in trouble, 'what should I do'?
    Can here the sentence 'what should I do' be replaced by 'what do i do'?

    Yes, you could use "What should/can/do I do".

    Is it a phrasal verb?
    I have also read it somewhere written as 'what do I do',but originally it is also meant as what a person is doing on daily or regular basis like 'he does go by bike', 'what do you do?' then why is it said like that because I also don't find in grammar books any rules for this and not even in books of phrases and idioms.
