    leap to your feet?

What is the function of "to" in "leap to your feet"? You jump to the height of the length of your feet? approximately 30cm? I'm not foolish to talk about the length, I know it's a figurative meaning.

ex)...Would you leap to your feet to get his attention?

    Re: leap to your feet?

If you're sitting or lying down, you would leap to your feet- you go into a standing position quickly.
