12 - I've been trying to get through to you all morning The speaker is still trying to get through
The speaker has got through
Please explain to me why the second answer is correct one. I though that the present perfect implies continuation in the sense that the action is still continuing. Many thanks.
Please have a look at the following pair.
"I've been waiting for the last two hours
The speaker does not like waiting
The speaker does not mind waiting at all."
I am a little bit confused. While the second answer fits best I do not understand why both are not appropriate. Thanks
