    Please educate me...P

Please tell if the sentences are correct:

It WAS the evidence that WILL set her mother and her twin sister free.

Vira cried when she SAW that it WAS the evidence that they HAVE long been looking for.

    THANKS!

The first one would be better and more natural with "would" instead of "will" and the second with "had" rather than "have".

But are those two original sentences incorrect? I am confused with what to use, whether HAVE or HAD, whether WILL or WOULD.

    Re: Please educate me...P

I just found this a second ago. It IS the thing I HAVE been looking for, right up until this moment.

I found this yesterday. It WAS the thing I HAD been looking for. I am no longer looking (since I found it yesterday) so "I had been looking for it" works better.
I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.

What do you mean by RIGHT UP UNTIL THIS MOMENT?

My search only stopped a moment ago.
