    has everyone dragging around

    Hi,

How should I understand "dragging" in this sentence?

This heat wave has everyone dragging around.

    Thanks a lot

    Re: has everyone dragging around

The hot weather has made everyone lethargic. You could think of it as everyone dragging him/herself around.

    Re: has everyone dragging around

Why here "dragging" is present continous tense rather than "drag", "dragged", I don't quite understand the "have someone dragging around" here, thanks a lot.

    I am not a teacher.

"Dragging" is not a verb form with "has". You are seeing a relatively unusual use of "have", defined in the AHD as, "To cause to be in a specified place or state" (def. 8b). The heat causes everyone to be in a state of dragging.
