    on the finals=do well on the final exams

    "We knew we were going to be dentists if we were lucky on the finals." OK?

    I did well on the exam or on the test or in the oral exam. Can I say on the finals meaning the same thing?

    " ... on the finals " is common usage in AmEng.

    "We knew we would be champions if we did well in the finals."

    "We knew we would be dentists if we did well on our finals."
