In my dialect, "I would like if we always played together" is fine, but the other is not.

    other options:
I would like if we played together always.
I would like (for) us always to play together.
I would like (for) us to play together always.

I wish I could tell you why. Maybe someone else can.

    Thanks a lot,
    an esl assistant is fine!
It happens to me very often, I cannot explain why a sentence sounds more correct than an other, and that in Italian too!!

To my ear, this sort of 'like if' sounds rather informal; 'I would like it if we always played together' sounds better to my (Br. E) ear.

The word order in " I would like us to play always together" is stilted, but " I would like us to play together always " would work.

'I would like for us to play together always' is heard - especially among younger speakers - in Br E.
