    Agreement problem

    Dear teachers,

I would be grateful if you could tell me what the native speakers say in the following sentences:

    Please give the number/the numbers of A, B and C by district/by districts;
Please give the figure/the figures of A, B and C by category/by categories.

    Thank you.

I does rather depend on what A, B and C are.

I don't know what the examples are. Presumably you know what A, B and C refer to.

    Re: Agreement problem

Well, let me say, please give:

the number/the numbers of clients, allied health staff and healthcare workers by district/by districts.

the number/the numbers of clients, allied health staff and healthcare workers by categories.

    Re: Agreement problem

the number/the numbers of clients, allied health staff and healthcare workers by district/by districts.

    I would say:
The number ... by district......The numbers ... by districts,

but you would probably see all combinations.

the number/the numbers of clients, allied health staff and healthcare workers by category.
I'd say 'number' but others might use 'numbers.

Please give the figure/the figures of A, B and C
    I'd say 'the figures for...'
