    Do you have “an” M.A degree? ( M.A means Master of Arts)But I feel it is “a”
    I am “an” M.L.A (M.L.A means Member of legislative Assembly)
    but here, I see such type of sentence in grammer books

    I have an MA. The letter M is read as 'em' - it begins with a vowel sound.
    I have a Masters. The word 'Masters' begins with a consonant.
