Someone is XX hours into something.

Someone is XX hours into something.

If someone is two hours into a three-hour bus ride to Seattle, is he going to take the ride in three hours?

    sunsunmoon.
No, it means that the person is on the bus and has been riding for two hours. There is one more hour to go before he gets to Seattle.

    I am not a teacher.

If you are two hours into a three-hour bus ride to Seattle, you are two-thirds of the way to Seattle. The whole ride will have taken three hours once you have arrived in Seattle, but right now you have an hour to go.

being "into" something has different meanings

I am a half hour into repairing this computer = I have spent a half hour, so far.

I am really into chocolate = very interested, obsessed, love, focusing on it
