First look up the phrasal verbs "to add up" and "to add on" and try to use them in short sentences.

    Re: Add on /Add up

The more natural way to write that sentence is "I would like to add a few points" without either "up" or "on."

Add up = to total. Add up the numbers in this column.
I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.
