    cope on a hotter planet?

Is "cope on" correct in the context? I have never heard of it instead of "cope with". Is it because of the issue-related prepostion "on" meaning regarding?

ex)Although nobody knows what the exact effects of global warming will be, scientists are wondering how we will cope on a hotter planet. It is time we became more aware of the possible effects of global warming...

    keannu.
The verb "to cope" means to "to manage the situation effectively or successfully" and can take many prepositions.
How can we cope on this hot planet?
How do we cope with this sort of heat?
There's a way to cope in this situation.
Nobody could cope against such an onslaught.
    etc

Re: cope on a hotter planet?

So in the OP's sentence, 'cope' just happens to be next to 'on'. What the people do is 'cope', and where they do it is 'on a hotter planet'; or to put it another way they 'cope with the temperature and other resulting conditions on a hotter planet.
