How to name a selling container

    Hi.
I'm having a difficulty to name a stuff in which there are some people selling us some stuff. I don't know if you're aware of what I'm talking about since that may be country specific, but I'll take a shot on that. The "selling container" I'm talking about has a shape of a parallelepiped, it has glass cover on the front from what you may see some things for sell.
Do you have some similar (if you've got what am I about ) at the place where you come from?

I would be grateful if you dear teachers highlight the mistakes in the post.
    Thank you for your participation.

Re: How to name a selling container

Alex, is there any way you could post a picture?
I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.

    Of course I do.
Can you see a picture specified by the following link ?
ImageShack® - Online Photo and Video Hosting

There's a window where you knock on and they open it. Then you put them a money for what you I want to buy. That window is often kept open however that's not on the picture.

I would be grateful if you dear teachers highlight my mistakes in the posts of this thread.

    I'd call it a "kiosk".

Re: How to name a selling container

To be honest I assumed the word came into Russian language from French like many other words but I could have never presumed the word is used in English as well (despite the fact that France is near to the UK I was surely aware of). I've just remembered I heard about a book stall or a newspaper stall or somewhat like that. Do you use this word, stall like a synonym to kiosk?
And just for information I might add that in the Russian language we emphasize the second wovel not the first.

In English we tend to emphasise the first syllable. A stall or stand is different from a kiosk, it's usually open rather than enclosed.

Now, that seems absolutely clear for me.
    Thanks a lot.
