Hi guys, just some questions regarding RP.

Dipthong questons
What is the difference between /ʊə/ and /ɔə/?
How does one pronounce /ɔə/ ? For a word such as Force?

How do you pronounce /ɑə/?


Triphthong questions

How does one pronouce [aɪə] and [ɑʊə]?

Also would you use [aɪə] for a word such as Ireland or just an ?

It is not easy to answer such questions in writing, but I'll try:
Diphthong questions
What is the difference between /ʊə/ and /ɔə/?
/ʊə/ is the diphthong used by some speakers in the word 'sure'. Other speakers pronounce this sound as /ɔ:/ - the same as the name 'Shaw'. There is no /ɔə/ diphthong in RP
How does one pronounce /ɔə/ ? For a word such as Force? That's /ɔ:/

How do you pronounce /ɑə/? There is no such diphthong in RP

Triphthong questions

How does one pronounce [aɪə] as in 'higher', and [ɑʊə] Do you mean /aʊə/, as in 'cower'?

Also would you use [aɪə] for a word such as Ireland? Yes
