"New York trio Soulive, featuring Neal Evans on Hammond B-3 organ, his brother Alan on drums, and Eric Krasno on guitar, POWERS THROUGH a tiny portion of The Beatles songbook on their album Rubber Soulive, adding its signature fusion rhythms to such Lennon and McCartney classics as “Help!”"

What does power through here mean? Thank you very much!

Well, to me - this means that they were struggling to play the section of the show. They did a mediocre job of it. But, they didn't let their mediocrity stop them from finishing the set.

To me "powers through" in this context suggests that the band did a strong, very rhythmic and probably rather loud performance of the numbers. The reviewer goes on to use the phrase "adding its signature fusion rhythms".

But you may be right, opa6x57. It's hard to be certain, never having heard the band or read the reviewer before.

This is how I read it as well.

Me too. It was strong and probably fast.

You powered through that sandwich -- you ate quickly.
I powered through that set of math problems -- I completed them quickly and easily.

Something under power moves quickly and easily.

Also the use of tiny portion further suggests short fast tracks and quite a sort album to me., maybe a bit like a Ramones album, even if musically very different.
