    You need to provide context.

    The phrase "pick up" can mean a number of things. For example:

    Someone tripped and fell on the floor. I picked them up. (to lift them up)

    I saw a hot guy in a bar. I went over to pick him up. (to meet him for purposes of sex/dating)

    I see you hitchhiking on the side of the road. I stop my car and pick you up. (give you a lift in my car)

    etc.
