I want to know the exactly meaning of the sentence: I was cooking only for myself as an idiom. Because I'sure that in my contex this sentence can not be meant cooking meal or something else.
Please help me to find the right meaning of this idiom.
Thanks
Maryam

As it stands, it sounds literal and not idiomatic to me- the speaker wants to emphasise that they weren't cooking for anyone else.
