    "repair to" vs. "repairs of"

    Hello there,

can you tell me if there is any difference in the expressions:

"Repairs to the pipeline were performed..."

    and

"Repair of the pipeline was performed..." ?

    Thanks!

Re: "repair to" vs. "repairs of"

I am not an English teacher, but I will comment.

The first sentence implies that individual repairs were made

The second sentence implies that the pipeline as a whole was repaired.

In both sentences, the word performed sounds a little awkward.

    I would prefer

Repairs to the pipeline were made [or completed].

    and

    The pipeline was repaired.

Re: "repair to" vs. "repairs of"

The second sentence is not at all natural, I can't imagine any native speaker saying that.
Much more likely is: "The pipeline was repaired..."
