Hi,

I wonder if this sentence is correct?

Who taught your English last year?

Should it be "Who taught you English last year"?

Thanks a lot

Yes, or who taught your English class last year.

Thanks a lot, Barb.

I want to ask one more question concerning this sentence?

If I want to put it as a passive sentence, can I say it like this:

By whom were you taught English last year?

Thanks a lot

By whom were you taught English last year?.
That is correct English, but it's very formal.

Who were you taught English by? is less stuffy, but the most natural form is the active: Who taught you English last year?
