    verses

I have to write out a poem I know, so I write two verses and the chorus of "A Smuggler's Song" by Rudyard Kipling.

Do two verses mean two poems here? Please.

    Re: verses

Verse in poetry is a line of a poem.

But it seems that here it's used in the meaning of stanza. Stanza is one unit of a poem; it's set off by a line break.

The person wrote out two verses of a poem. The poem they're writing down could have two or a hundred verses. They wrote just two.
