12 children killed in Brazil school shooting - CTV News
Three helicopters were landing and taking off from a football field next to the school, ferrying the wounded to hospitals.
I'm wondering if landing on and taking off from a football field is correct.
Technically, yes, but it does interrupt the flow of the sentence a bit, doesn't it?
The important idea is the frequent landing and taking off. If you get wrapped up in the correct preposition, you disconnect "landing and taking off" and it doesn't feel as action oriented.
I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.
