    would rather

    Dear Teachers,
    Which one is correct?

    1-I would rather he not wasted his time.
    or
    2-I would rather he did not waste his time.
    Question 2.
    Can 'that' be used after 'would rather' in the above sentences?

    As for question #2 - yes, the conjunction that can be used in sentences of this kind.
