    resume our friendship

    Are the following sentences acceptable?

    (1) I hate the outcome of this affair.
    (2) Two weeks later, I expressed my apology and goodwill to them first.
    (3) Under somebody’s mediation, we agreed to reach a compromise and resume our friendship.

    Re: resume our friendship

It doesn't sound like the language of sorting things out with a friend to me.

The problem with some of your questions, Ashiuhto, is that you are trying to express in English thoughts and situations that are unnatural to many native speakers.

In the following, I have tried to suggest a situation that might be more natural to native speakers. I know it is not exactly what you are talking about, but this is what I feel would have happened if we had had misunderstandings.

I didn't like the way things turned out. Two weeks later, I tried to resolve things by being the first to apologise. A friend helped us sort out our misunderstandings, and now everything is fine - we are friends again.
