    a green form of travel

    Hello,

Does this sentence sound OK to a native speaker's ear:
'Public transport is a green form of travel.'

And this is the paragraph a student used this sentence in:
'There are a lot of pros and cons of using public transport. Letís begin with advantages. Public transport is a green form of travel. I mean if you want to do your bit for the environment, getting public transport is one of the most straightforward things to do.
Do you know any other advantages?

What if I change it into:
Public transport is a more environmentally-friendly form of travel or public transport is a greener form of travel.

Thank you for your time and help.

Re: a green form of travel

This is one of those rules that don't make much sense to me, but I follow it anyway. Don't use a hyphen when the word ends in -ly.

Environmentally friendly way to travel. -- no hyphen.
I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.
