    Re: please explain

    Hi,
Can you explain the source of your confusion? Is the use of the word "of" in each of these?
I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.

Do you not understand what they mean, or how to use them?
    1. You can often take an adjective and convert it to the noun form with the "of" as follows:
Can I be helpful? Can I be of help?
Would this be useful? Would this be of use?
That was interesting. That was of interest.

    2. Of X origin - from X.

    3. Of Y quality. Of good quality, excellent quality, poor quality, etc means that their quality is good, excellent, or poor, as described.

    4. The end of June, the beginning of June, the middle of June - a time period. The start of the race, the middle of the day, the end of the show.
