    Re: Can we say...?

No. You would not be appreciated. The action you are asking for would be appreciated.

    Like this:

It would be very much appreciated if...

I would appreciate it very much if ...

(It sounds better to me if you put "very" in there.)

    (1) "Appreciate" is, indeed, very confusing.

    (2) Usually we appreciate something:

I would appreciate your help with this problem.

Your help with this problem would be very much appreciated.

    (3) Sometimes we can use "appreciate" to refer to ourselves:

Tom: I am going to quit my job here.

Martha: Why? You are one of the best employees at this company.

Tom: Thank you, but I feel that I am not appreciated. ( = My work

is not appreciated.) I asked the boss for a raise, and he turned me

down. I'm going to look for a company where I will be appreciated. ( =

where my efforts will be appreciated.)

P.S. My dictionary tells me that we can also appreciate a person.

For example, children often do not appreciate their parents until

they (the children) get older and realize how much they owe their

parents -- if the parents were good!!!

Thank you for all your help.
I google searched the expression, and found so many "I would be much appreciated if...". And now I am more certain that this expression is not correct.

The expression is not incorrect as such, but it's usually used wrongly.
    This is right:
"I would be very much appreciated if I had anything useful to offer this group. But I don't."

Thanks. I did not think of this. It roughly means "I will be thanked by them if I can offer some help."
