But I saw another pack of product which is used for making ribbon which named "ribbon" as well.

During conversation or writing, how can we know what does it really mean by saying "ribbon"? How do we know what any word with more than one meaning mean? Context. In most situations, ribbon means the narrow piece of some material/cloth. But when I just say "I have a ribbon" without any context, I could be talking about hair ribbons or typewriter ribbons. You won't know without further information.

Is it not that you wear them because you are against prejudice against the disease?

ps. There is also a ribbon to show that you are against prejudice against (i.e, you wish to show solidarity with) gay people. Homosexuality is not a disease.

In some cases it is a matter of prejudice. In others, not so much.

For example, the pink ribbon is used for fundraising and "awareness." I don't think there is a lot of prejudice against sufferers of breast cancer.
