    Doubt in writing a letter

    hello,

    Greetings for the day!!

I had written in a letter"So,I kindly request you to pendown your thoughts and wishes for the magazine",for which one of my colleague said that kindly request is a wrong phrase. It seems that kindly and request won't go together. Can someone clarify me on this.Thank you for the same.

I think that there is nothing wrong in pairing kindly and request. You can request something in a very nice way. Requests are not obligatory so people are generally pleasant when asking for them.
    Perhaps others will comment.

    Not a teacher.

I think it should be "write down".

You can pencil something in, but you can't pen it down.

Thank you Gillnetter. The (piece of) information you provided proved to be very useful.
