Hello.teachers. Which world can instead of the part underlined in this sentence because or if?

You cannot use either in this sentence.

in case
1 : for the purpose of being ready for something that might happen
▪ Bring an umbrella in case it rains. ▪ We brought extra money just in case.

Why can't you use if? It changes the meaning, but it is a correct sentence.

I should've said You cannot use either in this sentence instead of "in case" without changing the meaning.
