"After you stoned your friend, use a bronze knife to remove the pharaoh's internal organs through the incision".

Can you please let me know if this is right by using the four step method in deciphering Complicated Sentences.

Step 1: Locate the core parts and Conjunctions
coordination - after, use
core parts on the left: subject-you
verb-stoned
Core parts on the right: subject-Pharaoh
verb-internal
complement- incision
Step 2: Study the modifiers
(1) Stoned is an adjective describing what the subject shoud do.
bronze knife-object
Step 3: check vocabulary
I am familiar with all the terms and do need to look-up
Step 4: Paraphrase
Once you have a corpse, make an incision and remove the internal organs.

It's from a short essay called How to Mummify a Pharaoh? By Goodheart.

This is a pretty difficult sentence to understand without some context, plus it is written in a tongue -in- cheek way which you don't get from just one sentence.
In case anyone is interested here is the link. :-D

How to Mummify a Pharoah

I'm not really familiar with this "4 step method" but isn't use a verb here, subject (You)?...(you) use a bronze knife ect.

Also, I think your paraphrasing is a bit inaccurate. Once you have a corpse isn't a point that's made in this sentence, however, punishing your "friend" is. (He is being stoned rather than getting stoned. You need to read the passage to understand this though. )

Not a teacher.

If I hadn't read the passage I really wouldn't understand the use of the word friend here but since I have, I would paraphrase like this:

After punishing your friend, make an incision and remove Pharaoh's internal organs.

In my opinion, of course.

Not a teacher.
