What will happen from now on?

Please, check if the passage below is grammatically correct. Thanks.

The question, of course, is what will happen from now on? There is no doubt that the image of the US, which has recently suffered serious blows in the region, will improve. This is important today in view of the US efforts to rally the support of the new regimes which will run the Middle East affairs in the generations to come. President Obama, who was quick to take the credit for the achievement, will likely gain the sympathy of the American public and the international community. However, since the next election in the US will take place only a year and a half from now, the achievement could be forgotten until then whereas the economic issues might have a better chance of influencing the voters.
