    A training course called “INTERNATINAL STANDARDS OF JOURNALISM. VISUALIZATION OF INFORMATION” took place in November of 2010 in Astana at L. N. Gumilev Eurasian national university. It was aimed at training stable skills that would allow to freely adapt to the modern journalism tendencies and demands and to be able to give objective expert analysis in relevant matters of international politics, economics, business, and take reasonable managerial decisions.

    Make a decision is probably more common, but take in the above context didn't strike me as wrong.

    English experts, can you please comment on which of the following translations (including the first one in the thread) sound better in English. There was a heated discussion on one Russian forum where they argued about the correctness of translation.

    Version 1
    In November 2010 L. N. Gumilev Eurasian National University of Astana hosted a training course/session called 'International Journalism Practices. Information Visualisation' which was aimed at developing sustainable skills alowing journalists to easily meet modern trends and standards, come up with reasonable expert opinion on current issues in global politics, economics and business, and make well-grounded managerial decisions.

    Version 2

    Gumilev National Eurasian University hosted in November 2010 a workshop billed as “International Journalism Standards: News Visualization”. It was held to promote skills to help guide/navigate you in today’s news coverage trends and musts, make informed judgments on international political and business news, and be your own good manager.

    Version 3

    In November 2010, Astana-based LN Gumilev Eurasian National University hosted a workshop named “International Standards of Journalism: Information Visualisation” and aimed at helping young journalists develop skills they needed to stay current with the profession’s latest trends and practices, form solid opinions on relevant issues of global politics, economy and business, and make informed management decisions.
