After being caught... vs. After caught...

After _____ red-handed, the thief was immediately taken to the police station.
    (A) being caught (B) caught (C) catching (D) having caught
    Ans: (A)

Someone argued that (B) is also acceptable. Won't there be any ambiguity for answer (B)? What do you think? Thank you!
