    Does 'ripped' mean 'muscly'?

    Overheard:

    1) How do pilates and yoga make you ripped like that? They aren't even strength exercises.
    2) See, only guys are supposed to be ripped with veins popping out.

Does ripped mean big and muscly? What connotations does it bring about - favourable, negative, neutral?

You're ripped when you're muscles are well defined. Take a look at ripped - Google Search

You can see that some of these people are not very big.

Ahh, well-defined. You're right then, Bruce Lee had well-defined muscles but you'd hardly call him big.
