    Please check out the following sentences. Which is acceptable?

    (1) While he was talking to me, his eyes were staring at that pretty model.
    (2) While he was talking to me, he fixed his eyes on that pretty model.
    (3) While he was talking to me, he kept a close watch on that pretty model.
