I've got some problems with 3 sentences. Could you help me a bit?

1. By 1980, flared trousers were ............ . Nobody seemed to like them any more.
I was thinking about out here, but I doubt it's good...

2. This is a difficult task - do you think he will be ........... it?

3. We may be ........... a cold winter this year.
