"do you have much snow" is okay?

    Dear all,

When you ask the local people in Seatle if there's a lot of snow, is it okay to say, "Do you have much snow in Seatle?"

    Thank you!

Re: "do you have much snow" is okay?

Do you mean is there a lot of snow on the ground right now? Or does the climate in general usually include a lot of snow?

I would read "Do you have much snow?" to be asking if there is snow there right now.

"Do you get a lot of snow?" or "Does it snow a lot there?" would be asking about the general climate.
