    Smile "What say you?" - what kind is such centence?

    "What say you?"

    Could anyone explain me what kind that centence is?

    It is slang just like "long time no see". "Long time no see" is a word for word transliteration from Chinese. I believe "what say you?" is a word for word transliteration from Arabic ( Ma da taqool?).
