Hello, which word is correct to this blank , match or compare?

I don't like the tie. Because it doesn't _______my suit.

I think the answer is match. But the answer given in the book is compare. I can't understand. Please help me. Thank you!

You are right. The answer is "match."

Perhaps the answer key has a typo.

(The "Because..." sentence is not a real sentence. It's a fragment.)
I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.
