    Textbook to improve grammar

    Dear Forum members,

I would like to improve my English and ask for book recommendations. What I think would help is a comprehensive textbook with chapters focusing on a topic in English grammar. Short introduction/explanation/examples and then as many exercises as possible with solution at the end of the chapter/book. So no fancy pictures, no situation games, no crossword puzzle only grammar+exercises on black and white.

I would appreciate any kind of help.

    Thank you

    Re: Textbook to improve grammar

Raymond Murphy's English Grammar in Use comes close, but it has a CD with ineractive exercises. You could try to find Thomson and Martinet's Practical English Grammar- they have lots of that sort of exercise, but it's quite a old book.
