will you play football with us on Sunday

    Hello,

I have to choose the correct verb for the following sentence:

Are you going / will you play football with us on Sunday, Jack?

Are you going would imply Jack knows about the game.
I'm wondering if a native speaker might utter "will you...?" if they have, for example, run into Jack in the steet and decided to invite him to join in.

    Thank you.

    Thank you!

Now I'm wondering who on earth came up with such a test question.
