    Junior year ?

Mel is showing her past picture to Jim, and the translation goes "third grade(12th grade) in high school, but I guess it's "first grade(10th grade) in high school". Maybe junior year in university means 3rd year, but what about in high school?
Do they say "junior year(1)- middle year(2)-senior year(3)" in high school in America?

    Jim- When was this taken?

    Re: Junior year ?

High Schools in America usually include 10th, 11th, and 12th grade.

    10th grade = sophomore
    11th grade = junior
    12th grade = senior

Some schools also include 9th grade.

    9th grade = freshman

I hope this answers your question.
