    Don't depend on

    A. John likes money very much but he doesn't depend on it too much.
    B. John likes money a lot but he doesn't rely on it so much.

    Do these sentences make much sense in daily conversations?

    I wouldn't be quite sure what you meant if you said either of those sentences to me in daily conversation.
