    Modern Arts...???

    Hi!
    In English can I say...?
"I graduated in Modern Arts at the faculty of Humanities"
"I took my Master's Degree in Modern Arts at the faculty of Humanities"

Does Modern Arts include literature, history, philology etc..?Because in Italy my master's degree course is called Lettere Moderne.

    Thank you!

    NOT A TEACHER.

"I earned/obtained a master's degree in Modern Arts from [name of educational institution]."

Why has nobody answered? Why is nobody answering?
Because nobody has got round to it yet. There is no obligation on volunteers to answer every question quickly!

"I graduated in Modern Arts at the faculty of Humanities."
When people graduate, they normally receive a bachelor's degree. They normally graduate from a university/college/school rather than from a faculty, in my opinion.

"I took my Master's Degree in Modern Arts at the f Faculty of Humanities."
That, I think, is possible, though I would capitalise the F, treating "the Faculty of Humanities' as a name.

Does Modern Arts include literature, history, philology etc..?
This rather depends on the institution.

ps. Allen wrote his response as I was writing mine. I agree with him.

    As do I

    b

PS You need an auxiliary in your question: Why has nobody answered? or Why is nobody answering?. It would be preferable if you took 5jj's hint and avoided asking at all, but if you must ask, at least get it right!

If I say: "I graduated in Modern Arts from the University of Rome at the Faculty of Humaties" am I right?

    Can I also say: "I earned/obtained a master's degree in Modern Arts f
rom the University of Rome at the Faculty of Humaties" ?

    NOT A TEACHER.

"I earned a master's degree in Modern Arts from the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Rome."

I'd suggest that you leave out the "faculty" part; just write "from the University of Rome."
