    to add of?

    Hi,
While reading sport news on the BBC website, I found the following statement:
Federer added of his decision to withdraw...
Is it correct "to add of", or wouldn't it be better "to add to"? Thanks.

"Federer added to his decision to withdraw..." sounds strange to me. Have you any more context?

Of means about here. If you had given us the complete sentence, it might have gone on '...it was forced upon me because I broke an arm.'

It would need to be separated from the rest of the sentence by commas (or brackets:

Federer added, of his decision to withdraw, " ... it was forced upon me because I broke an arm.'
