*****NOT A TEACHER *****
(1) I think that the teachers prefer that we learners first try to
give our answers. Then they will check our answers.
(2) I don't think they will get too cross with me if I try to start
you off with the first three. OK?
(3) Remember: these are answers from a non-teacher:
I wrote the essay like you ordered me.
The only "mistake" that I found is that in perfect book English,
one should use "as" for the conjunction, not "like." (Maybe most
Americans would use "like"!!!)
Were they to try again, they will get what they want.
Well, since "were" is used, then good English requires the past
tense of "will," which is "would."
Something like: If I were the president (I am not!!!), I would
give the people an honest government.
If I were you, I will study hard.
Congratulations! I am confident that you can see the mistake,
(4) Would you like to do #4 - 9? Then the great teachers will grade
them. (And if I made a mistake in #1 -3, they will tell you and me.)
