Dear teachers,
Would you be kind tell me your opinion concerning my choice of the interpretation of the expressions in bold in the following sentences?
Knowing ill-fated, morbid and prejudiced animosity of some of you towards my incidental usage of moth-eaten words I indulge in the luxury asking whether the expression in question has an up-to-date sounding for your cultivated ears.
Mr. Manners is a person I hold in reverence by reason of his wide courtesy to all people.
hold somebody in reverence = honour somebody, show great respect towards somebody
