    killed resisting arrest

    Dear teachers,

    Would you share with me your opinion concerning the following two sentences?

    The man was killed resisting arresting.

    The man was killed while resisting arrest.

    Only the second of those is correct.

    You could also say - as in your thread title - 'The man was killed resisting arrest'.
