    There were some real beauties?

My grammar material says "all mass nouns can become count nouns when they are used in a classificatory sense", so in this, Is "beauties" multiple beautiful roses or some abstract beauty as a whole in the garden? Is it a plural meaning or singular one?

ex)There were some real beauties in that rose garden.

    Not a teacher
    I'd dare to say:

There were some real beauties in that rose garden.

    Short for:

There were some really beautiful roses in that rose garden.

I think Australians use that a lot.

Re: There were some real beauties?

    It's often shortened to 'beaut'.

I've just seen that 1932 side-valve Hirondelle. What a beaut! They don't build them like that any more.

    = what a beauty = what a beautiful thing/car.
