Dear teachers,

Would you be kind enough to give me your considered opinion concerning my interpretation of the expression in bold in the following sentence?

I am not sure that the news inspires me with feelingsof unmixed delight.

unmixed delight = unclouded delight

Not a teacher, but I would interpret "unmixed" as "pure":

"I am not sure that the news inspires me with feelings of pure delight."

Meaning:

"Although it seems good, there's something about the news that makes me uneasy".

Waiting for a more learned opinion,

M.

Your opinion is learned enough for me, Manny.
